The Group 2 Canterbury Stakes will feature the shortest priced favourite on 2011 Coolmore Classic Day this Saturday March 19th at Rosehill Gardens.
More Joyous has done nothing but firm in betting with Luxbet, now into as short as $1.26 to claim the $175,000 race.
Race #4 on the card, the 2011 Canterbury Stakes Field has only five runners, adding to punters confidence.
She’s won both her races this year and in the process has already accounted for some big names.
First up she dispatched Graceful Anna by a comfortable two and a half lengths in the Breeders Classic and then she withheld a late charge from Whobegotyou to take victory in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes at Caulfield.
In fact there are a whole host of reasons why More Joyous should be the winner this Saturday in the Canterbury Stakes.
- Her win record currently stands at 75% with 12 from 16 starts.
- She actually has a weight advantage in this race, 2kg better than the boys.
- Is easily the most distinguished in the race with three Group 1 wins.
- Nash Rawiller has only once been beaten when on the back of this horse.
It’s no surprise then that in our 2011 Canterbury Stakes Tips it’s More Joyous to win and no doubt win easily.
In second place we have big hopes for the return of last year’s Doncaster Mile winner Rangirangdoo at $8.50 fixed on Luxbet.
He has not raced since winning that event last year but after a couple of outstanding barrier trials there’s no reason he can’t jump right back into top gear.
He also has previous form starting in big races, last year he won the Expressway Stakes in his first up assignment.
Third place will go to the four-year-old Love Conquers All which recorded a Group level victory in the spring.
Was second behind Centennial Park in the Expressway Stakes this year and had no luck when racing wide in the Apollo Stakes to eventually finish fifth.
Currently the $7.50 second favourite through Luxbet.
